Professional Development Opportunities     Winter Quarter 2009         What Can Oracle FMS Do for Me?         Wednesday, January 14, 2009 10:00am to noon Grosvenor West 111 Register Presented by Greg Jolley, Accounting Specialist OU-COM Administrative & Financial Services In this brief overview of the university’s financial accounting system a lighthearted and maybe even slightly humorous approach will be employed to explain some of the key issues of how ORACLE FMS can help you manage your COM finances. You will become acquainted with some of the key functionality available in ORACLE FMS using a non-threatening approach and shown how the sum of all its parts (Funds Available View, Project Status Inquiry, OUPO Summary View, etc.) creates a helpful and non-imposing tool to assist you in managing your budget(s). The connection between FMS interactive partner systems such as PARIS, Cashnet, and Payroll will be discussed to demonstrate how FMS is the one-stop place to access for all your financial management needs. The session will employ real-life situations and demonstrations of exactly what to do and how to do it using a PowerPoint presentation instead of the typical hands-on ORACLE FMS training. In a departure from the typical FMS training given at O.U. this session will not be presented in a computer lab but participants will be supplied with reference materials to use during and after the session.
