The
Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine (OU-COM) is
committed to the continuum of education and life-long
learning. This commitment includes serving as an accredited
provider of continuing medical education (CME).
The
OU-COM Office of CME supports educational needs of several
groups including the college’s faculty, community physicians
in rural and under-served areas of southeast Ohio, alumni,
preceptors and clinical faculty in our affiliated hospitals
and clinics throughout Ohio. The OU-COM Office of CME offers
programs independently and in join sponsorship with other
organizations. The OU-COM Office of CME is part of the
Consortium for Health Education in Appalachia Ohio and the
Area Health Education Center.
Accreditation:
The
OU-COM Office of Continuing Medical Education is approved by
the American Osteopathic Association as an accredited
continuing medical education provider for osteopathic
physicians, and adheres to all
AOA accreditation standards. All programs also adhere to
the Accreditation Council
for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) Standards for
Commercial Support of CME.
Online CME is available at
CMEOhio.com - a collaborative enterprise of Ohio's
consortium of medical schools, brought together by the
common goal of providing healthcare professionals with
quality, evidence-based continuing education.
CMEOhio is made possible by the generosity and vision of the
Ohio Board of Regents. The grant awarded to Ohio's
consortium of medical schools is intended to increase the
accessibility of continuing education for all healthcare
professionals in Ohio by centralizing online course
offerings from Ohio's six schools of medicine in one
location.
