The Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine (OU-COM) Office of Continuing Medical Education (CME) jointly sponsors CME programs with other organizations.  The Office of CME will assist the sponsor in meeting all requirements for CME, in determining the type of CME for which the program is eligible, and will submit CME on the sponsor’s behalf and maintain records on the CME program. 

It is required that when advertising for AOA Category 1-A CME credit that you state the following:

“This program is anticipated to offer ____ hours of AOA Category 1-A CME credit, pending the approval of the AOA Council on Continuing Medical Education”

The Checklist for Obtaining AOA CME Program Credit (link below) will guide you through the process of setting up a CME program.

Accreditation:

The OU-COM Office of Continuing Medical Education is approved by the American Osteopathic Association as an accredited continuing medical education provider for osteopathic physicians, and adheres to all AOA accreditation standards.   All programs also adhere to the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) Standards for Commercial Support of CME.
