What are the minimum MCATs and GPAs needed
to apply?
We take more than just MCAT scores and GPAs into account
when evaluating our applicants, so we don’t have any minimum grade
or test score requirements. Competitive applicants typically have at
least a 3.6 science
GPA and 8s and above on each MCAT subsection.
For the entering class of 2012, the average science GPA was
3.59, non-science, 3.70 and overall, 3.64. The average
MCAT score was 27. |

”Alden Library
and the Learning Resource Center are invaluable resources. Medical students
have the privilege of checking out books for
an entire quarter. It is nice not having to spend thousands of dollars
on additional textbooks. The LRC is just for medical students and has
a wide selection of textbooks, both PC and Macintosh computer labs, study
rooms and a quiet area, giving students greater access to a convenient learning
environment
and educational resources”

In a word – everywhere! Through the

to community hospitals and from metropolitan and suburban areas to rural
regions, the CORE offers it all. Graduates completing residencies outside
of the CORE have gone to the Cleveland Clinic, the Dallas/Forth Worth

Most medical students do not live on campus, but rather in Athens and the surrounding

What types of support can I expect as an OU-HCOM student?
We take very seriously our attention to students here at OU-HCOM. You
will be able to find support through many different avenues. Faculty/Staff
Mentors, COMrades, a learning specialist and tutors are just a few of
the ways in which we provide support. The
Office
of Student Affairs provides many services to our students -- everything from financial
aid counseling and course registration to facilitating workshops about
how to live on a tight med student budget. They also keep our students
informed about current medical and legal issues. You may not find a
more student-centered medical school anywhere in the nation!
