There is an annual limit to the amount of Stafford Loan money that you may borrow each year – See below.

These limits are based on the number of months you will be enrolled. This application refers only to your Stafford loan eligibility for this year. There is a separate process to apply for Grad Plus Loans.

If you request less than the maximum amount, you may increase the amount at any time during the academic year by contacting the financial aid office.

In order for OU-HCOM to certify the loan for you for 2012-13, you must also have an active Master Promissory Note (MPN) with the Federal Direct Loan Program. If you haven’t completed your MPN, you can do it at: https://studentloans.gov/myDirectLoan/index.action

If you need more money than the annual Stafford loan limits listed above, you may apply for the Grad PLUS loan at a later date. We will provide information about how to do that as we get closer to the start of classes.
