Welcome to the OU-COM Office of the Dean!
This year, we
will begin our fourth decade of training outstanding
osteopathic physicians.
 Our
two innovative curricula are structured to provide a
seamless medical education experience through all
phases of your training and offer early clinical
experiences in the first two years in area doctor’s
offices, hospitals and through our Community Service
Programs’ free clinic. Through our research efforts,
OU-COM researchers have made major drug discoveries,
including invention of the first drug that
effectively treats excess growth hormone production
– acromegaly – and a new class of antibiotics.
Innovative new drugs targeting diabetes are
currently in development. Our commitment to
diversity places OU-COM first at Ohio University.
Last year, 25 percent of our incoming class was
comprised of minority students. We are very proud of
what we have to offer and hope that you will
