In brief:
The Haptic Back Laboratory occupies 120 sq. ft. of laboratory space and is under the direction of Drs. John Howell (Biomedical Sciences) and Robert Williams (Mechanical Engineering). The laboratory is equipped with three PHANTOM 3.0’s, a PHANTOM 1.5 6DOF, and 4 Omni’s. The devices are used for virtual reality medical simulations and medical training in palpation as well as tissue compliance measurements.
