Topic: Discuss one or two important health issue(s) in Africa or Latin America. Focus on the public health, cultural, and socioeconomic aspects of the problem and potential solutions. Students may go to www.paho.org or www.who.int to identify an issue or can choose from the following list:

  • High infant mortality
  • Malaria
  • Intestinal infections - parasitic & other
  • Malnutrition
  • Denge fever
  • Tuberculosis
  • Vaccine preventable illness
  • HIV
  • STIs
