OU-COM employees
are invited to attend the Annual Service Awards Ceremony Wednesday,
Feb. 23, at 3 p.m. in Irvine 194.
The ceremony
honors employees for their years of service to OU-COM, which was
established by the Ohio General Assembly in 1975. The college
admitted its first class of students a year later. This year, the
ceremony marks milestones at 5, 10, 15, 20, and 25. OU-COM employee
recognition for 30 years of service will take place in 2006.
Thirty-seven
employees will be honored for service ranging from five to 25 years.
Departmental awards also will be made.
“Although we do
not have honorees with 30 years of service, we have some biomedical
sciences faculty members that have been working with the college for
30 or more years,” says Beth Maxon, director of human
resources and administrative services.
“It’s a special
event because we get to honor employees for their years of service
and contributions to the college,” Maxon says. “It’s a milestone for
our employees.”
There will be
refreshments served on the Bricks following the ceremony, which
should last approximately one hour.
