Alumnus Elected to
the American
Osteopathic
Association Board of
Trustees
(CHICAGO ) —
Draion M. Burch,
D.O. (’07), an
obstetrics and
gynecology resident
from Detroit, was
recently elected as
the intern and
resident
representative to
the American
Osteopathic
Association (AOA)
Board of Trustees
during its House of
Delegates meeting in
Chicago.
“I am honored to be
elected to serve on
the AOA Board of
Trustees,” Burch
said. “I look
forward to the
opportunity to
represent my fellow
osteopathic interns
and residents.”
In 2009, Burch, who
is currently chief
resident at the
Michigan State
University College
of Osteopathic
Medicine/St. John
Providence Health
System Osteopathic
Division
Macomb-Oakland
Hospital in Warren,
Mich., received the
program’s OBGYN
Resident of the Year
award.
Burch will serve
this year as chair
of the AOA Council
of Interns and
Residents. He will
also act as a
resident
representative to
the Michigan
Osteopathic
Association (MOA)
Board of Trustees
Aside from his
involvement in the
AOA and the MOA,
Burch is also the
resident
representative to
the Board of
Trustees of the
American College of
Osteopathic
Obstetricians and
Gynecologists.
Burch also holds a
bachelor’s degree in
chemistry from
Xavier University of
Louisiana in New
Orleans.
