Bike Rodeo
rides into Athens Community Center

event features bicycle safety education,
raffle
for free children’s bicycle

The 8th
annual Athens Bike Rodeo rides into the
Athens Community Center, Saturday, May
8, from 9 a.m. to noon, rain or shine.
Children of all ages from all Athens
County schools are invited to bring
their bikes and helmets to the free
event, which focuses on bicycle safety
education. All children must be
accompanied by an adult to participate.
Activities include a bike safety
obstacle course, bike inspections,
helmet fittings and a primer on hand
signals and navigation skills.
A
limited number of free bike helmets will
be available for participants, and a
children’s mountain bike will raffled to
one lucky winner. Only children
pre-registered for the event will be
entered into the raffle.

providing the child’s and parents’
names, the child’s school and bike
style, address, phone number and
(optional) e-mail address. Registration
forms also can be downloaded from
www.ohio.edu/wellworks/ADMIN/BIKE09.pdf
and sent to OU-HCOM Community Health
Programs, 055 Grosvenor Hall, Athens,
Ohio 45701. Registration is due by
Friday, May 8.
