You're not alone if you've ever sought health care for back pain. The ailment is the number two reason Americans visit their physicians. It's also the focus of a new OU-HCOM study that looks at manual therapy, a common strategy used to treat the ubiquitous problem. The OMM lab seeks volunteers to act as "patients" for its weekly lectures and hands-on laboratory. Volunteers will be evaluated by our students and receive an OMT treatment. Lab dates are Wednesday, Oct. 19, from 8 to 10 a.m. and 10 a.m. to noon. To volunteer, contact OMM Associates or call 740.593.2138.

Get your 'Boo' on!

Faculty, staff and students should start thinking about their costume choices for OU-HCOM's annual Halloweenie on the Bricks, which will be held at Thursday, Oct. 27, at noon on the Irvine Bricks.
The luncheon features hot dogs and chili dogs, sloppy joes, chips, veggies and dip, potluck desserts, and drinks. Cost is $3 with an RSVP, $5 at the door, or free for those who donate a dessert. Prizes will be awarded for best dessert and best costume. Proceeds go towards the college's annual Winter Blast. RSVP to Mike Yeager by Monday, Oct. 24.
