Did you know Convocation 2012 is in July, not August?
Organizing an event for the 2012-2013 academic year? Make sure you check the new academic calendar because the switch from quarters to semesters happens this July, and dates for events and breaks will change. For example, winter break runs from Dec. 15, 2012 to Jan. 14, 2013, and spring break is March 3 to 9. Visit our Q2S website to learn more and to download a PDF for a comparison calendar showing changes in these dates and more.

Build muscle and burn calories; take the stairs
The OU-HCOM Space Advisory Committee wants you to increase your daily activity by taking the stairs in Grosvenor Hall, and the group is taking steps to make these journeys a little more pleasant.
Based on the "StairWELL to Better Health" project from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the committee has many stairwell improvements planned including cleaning, painting, posting motivational posters, installing numbering systems on doors and each stair step, and installing artwork created by local high school students highlighting disease prevention and health promotion concepts.
Athens High School students created the mixed media fish display near the stairwell across from the employee lounge on Grosvenor Hall's ground floor, while Federal Hocking High School students designed the "Get Moving" pieces depicting silhouettes of human forms in motion in the stairwell near the building's back entrance. Other area high schools may submit similar proposals to the committee.
