Fashion from last year's Multicultural Extravaganza

Extravaganza highlights college diversity
The Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine invites the university community to share in a celebration of the college's cultural diversity during the annual Multicultural Extravaganza on Wednesday, Feb. 22, 11:45 a.m., Irvine Hall 194.
Tickets for the event, which includes lunch served at 11:45 a.m., are $5 at the door, or $4 with a donation of a canned food item, which will be given to patients in the college's Diabetes Free Clinic.
There will be traditional fashion from various countries including India, Ghana, and Lithuania. The talent showcase will include belly dancing, modern dance, and African American interpretive dance and song. Read more

Mark your calendars now for the Ohio Osteopathic Symposium, the state's premier continuing medical education event for osteopathic physicians, April 18 to 22, at the Columbus Hilton Easton Town Center. The Symposium is a collaboration of the Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine and the Ohio Osteopathic Foundation.

E-waste recycling available
The university has installed E-waste cabinets for the recycling of cell phones, toner cartridges or ink jet cartridges, batteries (rechargeable or regular dry cell batteries) as well as CDs and compact florescent bulbs. Most of the green and white cabinets are located in lobby areas of buildings, but the cabinets in Grosvenor Hall are located on the ground floor near Grosvenor West. The cabinets in Irvine Hall are located on The Bricks, and the cabinets in the ARC are located in the atrium/living room near the OU-HCOM Society of Alumni and Friends Café, and the vending area between the building and Irvine Hall.

Wellness presentations
Justine Shuey, Ph.D., (aka "Juicy Justine"), a board certified sexologist, will give two presentations on Thursday for students, faculty and staff.
On Thursday, Feb. 23, at noon in Irvine 194, Shuey will present "Maintaining Your Mojo During Medical School." This presentation will discuss the creation and maintenance of healthy personal and sexual relationships alongside the rigors of medical school. Food will be served.
Also on Thursday, Feb. 23, from 5:15 to 6:45 p.m. in Irvine 194, Shuey will lead a discussion on "Demystifying Sex Talk in the Healthcare Setting," which focuses on communicating comfortably with patients about sex. The presentation is open to anyone involved with healthcare. Food will be served.
