Congratulations! You’ve taken on the rewarding
challenge of creating a new organization at OU-HCOM. Listed below are the steps to help you get
there. |
|
| |
- Outline the
basic information for the new organization.
Identify the following information about the
new organization: name, advisor, officers,
mission and goals, and constitution if
applicable. **Note: OU-HCOM organizations must
have faculty or staff members serve as their
advisors.
- Inform
OU-HCOM. Contact Holly Jacobs, Associate
Director for the Office of Student Affairs, the
Student Government Year II PCC or CPC Vice President,
and the Dean to inform them of your intention to
start a new organization.
- Register with
Ohio University. Visit the Ohio University
Office of Student Affairs website on
http://www.ohiou.edu/stuactivities/storg/startingnew/buildupintro.htm
for information on forming a new organization
and the requirements of registered student
organizations. You are responsible for
understanding and abiding by university rules
and regulations for registered organizations.
Under the “Forms” Section, complete the
application to register a new student
organization. For complete details of “How to
start a new organization,” the Ohio University
handbook is available at
http://www.ohiou.edu/stuactivities/storg/howto/index.htm.
- Complete the
Ohio University Signature Card. Have the
organization’s treasurer complete the card to
establish the account with Ohio University.
Cards are available in the Office of Student
Affairs and at Chubb Hall.
- Register with
OU-HCOM. In order to be officially recognized
by OU-HCOM and be eligible for Student Government
funding, the organization must complete the
registration form available at
OU-HCOM
Organization Registration.
