contains everything you’ll need to apply to
the Summer Scholars program.
Please note
that you will need to download the files and
submit them
via regular mail or fax. We
cannot accept electronic applications for
Summer Scholars at this time.
The Summer Scholars application
deadline is
March 1, 2008.
Letters of recommendation are also due by March 1,
2008.
You will need to
download all three files for a complete
application packet.
Application
timeline:
You may begin
applying to the Summer Scholars program now
through February, 2008. All application
materials, including letters of
recommendation must be received by March 1,
2008.
The Summer
Scholars selection committee will meet
shortly after March 1 to evaluate the
applications.
Applicants selected for
participation will be notified
by regular mail, email, or phone
call in early April.
All applicants will be notified
of the committee's decisions by
mid April.
Summer Scholars
will begin on Thursday, June 12 and will
conclude on Friday, July 25.

Planning to
take advantage of our guaranteed interview?
You will need to
do the following in order to interview for a
spot in the OU-COM entering class of 2009:
- Take
the MCAT. Eligible students must have at
least one current MCAT score to be eligible
to interview. MCAT scores will be
considered current if they were taken
between April 2006 and May 2008.
- Apply
to the Ohio University College of
Osteopathic Medicine through the centralized
osteopathic application service, AACOMAS.
You may begin applying as early as June,
2008. Visit
www.aacom.org for further details and to
apply.
- Have
all of your official transcripts and MCAT
scores sent to AACOMAS
- Request
letters of recommendation from either your
institution’s premedical committee OR two
natural science faculty who taught you in
class. We will not substitute letters
written for your Summer Scholars application
for letters needed in the medical school
application process. These letters need to
address your preparedness for medical
school, not the summer program.
