ATCO,
Inc. is a work training center for adults with developmental
disabilities. ATCO assists individuals with mental
retardation and developmental disabilities to picture their
potentials.

Special Notes:
Students are to arrive
for both the observation and the presentation at 9:00 AM. If you cannot keep your appointment or if you
will arrive late, please call the workshop and leave a
message.
Specific CCE Goals:
Gain experience in
preventive medicine, patient teaching and community
education by preparing and teaching relevant health topics
to adults with developmental disabilities.
Develop interpersonal communication skills with adults with
developmental disabilities.
Practice
social responsibility by providing health information to
adults with developmental disabilities.
Objectives/Activities:
By participating in this
CCE assignment, medical students will:
Dress:
Identification badge and professional casual clothing (please no tennis shoes or
jeans).

Activity: None
Responsibilities of
the Medical Student:

While on agency
property, medical students will conform to all applicable
policies and procedures of the agency.

Medical students will
exercise confidentiality with regard to all patient and/or
staff information gained during the clinical experience.

Medical students are
financially responsible for any illnesses, injuries, or
other health problems they may incur during their clinical
experiences.
Directions:
At the end of Court
Street, turn right onto Carpenter Street (the last traffic
light). This will turn into Stimson Avenue. Stay on
Stimson Avenue; go past the Shell station on the right.
Turn right onto Campbell Street at the next traffic light.
This is a short street (~100 feet). Turn right at the stop
sign. ATCO is directly on the left. This is a large stucco
building painted gray. Parking is limited; you may want to
walk. If you go past Sonic you have missed Campbell
Street. |
