Specific CCE Goals:
By
participating in this CCE assignment, medical students will
have increased knowledge of:
- Adult Protective Services in Athens County.
- Emergency Prescription Services.
Objectives/Activities:
By participating in this CCE assignment,
medical students will be able to:
- Define and describe the processes involved in
providing Adult Protective Services.
- Review the Ohio Revised Code.
- Visit the home of an individual referred for
investigation/care by Adult Protective Services and discuss
the intervention plan for the referred individual with APS
staff.
- Describe Emergency Prescription Services and
plan of intervention of this program.
Equipment Needed for Activity:
None
Dress:
Identification badge – no lab jacket. Please wear
professional casual clothes, no blue jeans or tennis shoes.
Neckties are
not necessary.
Responsibilities of the medical student:
- While on agency
property, medical students will conform to all applicable
policies and procedures of the agency.
- Medical students will exercise
confidentiality with regard to all patient and/staff
information gained during the clinical experience.
Directions:
Leaving OU-COM, turn left onto Richland
Avenue. Go uptown, turn left at the light onto Court St. and go all the way to the end. At the light turn left onto
Carpenter St. Follow Carpenter to the top of the hill,
where you turn right onto Lancaster St. Athens County
Department of Job and Family Services will be in the first
block or two on your right. Park in the JFS visitor lot at
184 North Lancaster. Come into the building and tell the
receptionist you are a medical student there for an
experience with Adult Protective Services.
