Specific CCE Goals
Gain experience in the assessment of the eye and management of common eye disorders.

Objectives/Activities
By participating in this CCE assignment, medical students will:

·      State the steps of evaluating visual acuity and diagnosing visual dysfunction.

·      Recognize visual acuity, visual field, color vision and extra-ocular neuromuscular defects.

·      Observe the assessment of the eye and become familiar with the ophthalmoscope, tonometer and other instruments to determine eye health.

·      Acquire knowledge of ocular diagnostic strategies and treatment approaches for visual, extra-ocular muscles and other ocular health anomalies.

·      Develop an understanding of documentation of records, ocular terminology and history taking.

None

Dress
White lab jacket and identification badge.  Please wear professional casual clothes, no blue jeans or tennis shoes. 

Responsibilities of the Medical Student

·      While on agency property, medical students will conform to all applicable policies and procedures of the agency.

·      Medical students will exercise confidentiality with regard to all patient and/or staff information gained during the clinical experience.

Directions:
Athens
Take Route 33 W toward Columbus.  Exit at SR 550.  At the light at the end of the exit ramp turn left onto Columbus Road.  The office is on left side of street and located in a long white block building that faces the road.

Nelsonville:
Take 33 West toward Columbus.  After you enter Nelsonville, take a right at Rocky Boot, then a left at Fruth, this office is the 2nd building down on the right at 72 West Washington St.
