Special Notes:
Please call the contact person if you will be even a few minutes late.  Additional reading about the Cardiac Rehab Program at Marietta Memorial Hospital is suggested.  There are likely to be several of your classmates traveling to a CCE in Marietta on the same day at the same time; if you are interested in carpooling, please contact the CCE office.

Specific CCE Goals:
Gain knowledge of the inter-disciplinary treatment of cardiac patients.

Understand exercise prescriptions for cardiac patients.

Describe the normal & abnormal physiologic responses to exercise in CHD patients.

Objectives/Activities:
Gain knowledge of the inter-disciplinary treatment of cardiac patients and the roles of the cardiac team members;

Recognize the relationship of the individual exercise prescription during the actual exercise session;

Recognize the cardiac rehabilitation patient's response to their individual exercise regime.

Equipment Needed for Activity:
None

Dress:
White lab jacket and identification badge.  Please wear professional casual clothes, no blue jeans or tennis shoes.   

Responsibilities of the Medical Student

·    While on agency property, medical students will conform to all applicable policies and procedures of the agency.

·    Medical students will exercise confidentiality with regard to all patient and/staff information gained during the clinical experience.

Directions:
Take SR 50/US 7 to Marietta, OH.  After crossing the bridge, turn left at the2nd light onto 3rd St.  Turn right onto Mathew St. (just past the only intersection with a traffic light on 3rd St.).  Go up the hill and park in the ER lot (on the left).  If there are no spaces available, park in the back.  Go through the ER, past the lobby to the glass elevator.  Take the elevator up one floor to "G".  Get off the elevator, turn left, go through the doors and take a sharp left.  Go through another set of doors, walk about 100 feet and you'll see the signs for Cardiac Rehab on your left.
