Bike Rodeo rides into Athens Community Center
Free event features
bicycle safety education, raffle for free children’s bicycle

(ATHENS, Ohio – May 3, 2012) The 11th
annual Athens Bike Rodeo rides into the Athens Community Center,
Saturday, May 19, from 9 a.m. to noon, rain or shine.
Children of all ages from all Athens County schools are invited to
bring their bikes and helmets to the free event, which focuses on
bicycle safety education. All children must be accompanied by an
adult to participate.
Children can learn bicycle hand signals and bicycle navigation
techniques, have their bicycles inspected, ride a cool safety course
and visit Safety Town. A limited number of free bike helmets will be
available for participants generously provided by University Medical
Associates and TEAMHealth Midwest, and a children’s mountain bike
from Athens Bicycle will raffled to one lucky winner. Only children
pre-registered for the event will be entered into the raffle.
Pre-register by Friday, May 18, at noon by e-mailing
athensbikerodeo@gmail.com and providing the child’s and parents’
names, the child’s school, grade level and bike style, address,
phone number and e-mail address.
