Presentation focuses on veterans mental health needs
(Athens, Ohio – Aug. 13) Todd Fredricks, D.O.,
assistant professor of family medicine, will present "Meeting the Mental
Health Needs of Our Veterans and Our Military Families - Understanding the
Basics," on Tuesday, Aug. 14, from noon to 1 p.m. in Grosvenor west 111.
Objectives of the presentation include:

Simple techniques on
identifying veterans and their families;

Recognizing the seven Army Core values;

Discussing behavioral health changes of returning veterans
and their family members;

Recognizing traumatic brain injury and assessment.

The presentation is also available via videoconference at the Chillicothe
Veterans Affairs Medical Center and Tri-County Mental Health and Counseling
Service sites. One hour of continuing education credits are available for
physicians, nurses, psychologists, counselors and social workers.
The presentation is presented by OU-HCOM, Area Health Education Center and
the Consortium for Health Education in Appalachia Ohio.
