The knowledge and skills that CPC students are expected to master are described by explicit, faculty-written learning objectives.

Each week’s schedule incorporates a variety of teaching/learning methods, including:
• case-based learning (CBL) in small discussion groups;
• lectures and panel discussions in large groups;
• laboratory experiences covering gross anatomy, histology, osteopathic   medical manipulation and/or clinical skills;
• problem sets; and
• generous time allotments reserved for student-directed study.

This mix of learning opportunities encourages the development of each student’s individual knowledge base and, more importantly, promotes a cross-disciplinary, clinically-relevant understanding of the clinical presentation under consideration in that week. Simulated patient labs and clinical and community experiences, then, provide real-world opportunities for students to apply what they have already learned and to gain new understandings.
