Well
Child Program |
| |
|
| |
This service is provided in collaboration
with area schools, physicians and other
child service agencies. This program assists
parents with enrolling children in Ohio
Healthy Start Insurance or finding
additional funding for uninsured or
underinsured children. The Well Child
Program offers assistance with medical and
mental health referrals, screening children
for developmental or social/emotional delays
and promotes education and awareness of
dangers associated with lead poisons and
childhood obesity. A car seat program offers
car seats to WIC-eligible parents in Athens
County for a small fee. Child care providers
can also be connected with proper nutrition
and exercise information for young children.
These services are provided to children
residing in Athens County. This program also
provides education to teachers and other
professionals on behavioral and mental
health problems, and risk factors associated
with child abuse and family violence.
