The Healthy Adult Program (HAP) provides
four separate clinics and programs that meet
different needs within Southeastern Ohio. We
provide health-care services, including
screening services, episodic care,
prevention and health education to uninsured
or underinsured adults of the Appalachian
region. Our programs include Breast and
Cervical Cancer Clinics, the Free Medical
Clinic, the Free Diabetes Clinic, the Free
Dermatology Clinic and HAP
Screenings, which test blood pressure,
glucose and lipids (cholesterol). The focus of these
programs is on uninsured and underinsured
adult populations. The HAP program provides
health education to high school girls about
breast and cervical cancer prevention and
early detection. HAP also provides
information about breast cancer at health
fairs in the 15 counties of service.

HAP screenings and the Breast and Cervical
Cancer Clinics serve the following counties:
Athens, Hocking, Perry, Vinton, Morgan,
Washington, Jackson, Perry, Lawrence,
Gallia, Ross, Scioto, Pike, Noble, and
Monroe. The Free
Medical Clinic, the Free Diabetes Clinic and
the Free Dermatology Clinic serve
Athens,
Meigs,
Washington,
Hocking, Morgan and Perry counties only. |

HAP Screenings and Breast and Cervical
Cancer Clinics travel to each county in our
mobile medical van. The Free Clinic travels
weekly in the mobile van to the counties
listed above, but also has a Free Community
Clinic in Grosvenor West Hall in Athens, where the
Diabetic Clinic and the Dermatology Clinic
meet once a month. Please
contact our offices with questions about
where our services are located or to make an
appointment. |

There are many uninsured and underinsured
adults living in Southeastern Ohio who,
without our services, would not have routine
Pap tests and mammograms or access to
affordable health care. Through our
cholesterol, blood pressure and glucose
screenings, we find many adults with
abnormally high readings, and often they are
not aware of this. These screenings help
people become proactive about their health
care, and allows us to provide information
to them about improving their health before
they develop serious health conditions.
