February 10, 2003

§         6:45-7:45am:  It’s cold and wet outside.  The sun has eluded the early morning.  My spirits are intact and I am ready to face this new day that’s the end to a new beginning.  So, I am now out of my warm bed and preparing to take a shower, dress, and eat a mini breakfast before leaving for class.

§         8:00am:  I arrive at Irvine Hall and there are tons of classmates out on the Bricks.  The time has come to be challenged and endure the many challenges.  The doors open to I-194 and everyone proceed to their designated areas. 

§         8:05am:  The proctor explains a few procedures and shortly after the cardiovascular exam begins.  By far, the CV exam is long and mentally as well as physically draining.

§         12:00noon:  The test is over.  Everyone appears to be exhausted and ready for bed or as some say, a shot of spirits!

§         12:10pm:  I turned in my CV block evaluation form and picked up my Respiratory block packet.

§         12:45-2:15pm:  A few of my friends and I went to BW3s to grab a bite to eat.

§         By 2:30pm:  I was in the bed.

§         6:30pm:  I eventually got out of bed.  My plans at this point were to do NOTHING!!!

§         By 10:30 or 11:00pm:  I had discovered that I was in bed again.  Good night!


                             

February 11, 2003

§          6:45am:    I hit the snooze button.

§          7:00am:    The alarm goes off again.  My feet hit the floor and I attempt to get ready for class.

§          8:00am:    I arrive at school.

§          8:10-9:00am:  Dr. Dane gives an overview of the Respiratory Block. Yea, we get a brand-new block of “stuff”.

§          9:10-10:00am:  Dr. Tomc, an ENT physician,  gives an intro to nasal congestion (a highlight for this week).

§         10:10-12:00noon:  OMM lab begins and we learn about other techniques used for treating dysfunction. 

§         12:00-1:00pm:  Lunch on the Bricks

§         1:00-3:00pm:  CBL group discussion.  Our cases dealt with acute sinusitis and other respiratory conditions.

§         3:00-4:00pm:  Dr. Clay lectured on pulmonary review of systems and exam. 

§         4:10pm:  I arrived home and took a nap for about an hour or so. 

§         5:30pm:  I started to study.

§         7:00pm:  Dinner

§         8:00pm:  I studied for about another 2 hours.

§         10:00pm-11:00pm:  I took a shower and went to bed.

February 17, 2003

§         All classes were cancelled because we had a snow storm the preceding weekend and it extended through today.  However, I got a lot of studying done on today.

February 18, 2003

§         We were told to report to classes at 10:00am.   Still, the roads were hazardous but I managed to arrive to class.

§         10:10-12:00noon:  OMM lab.

§         1:00-3:00pm:  CBL group discussion about conditions relating to cough

§         3:00-4:00pm:  Dr. Howell lectured on alveolar ventilation.

§         4:05pm:  By now, I am driving home.

§         4:30pm:  I begin studying.

§         6:30pm:  Dinner.

§         6:30pm-7:00pm : Bath

§         7:00pm:  Study a little more.

§         10:00pm:  TV time.

§         11:30pm:  Bed time.

February 24, 2003

  • 8:00-10:00am:  S&I session on cough module.  We were presented with an unknown case/quiz.
     
  • 10-12:00 noon:  Lectures on neural regulation and respiratory system development

    12:00 noon:  I went home and took a nap. 

  • 3:00pm:  I began studying today’s material. 
  • 8:00pm:  Late dinner
  • 9:00pm:  Bath
  • 11:00pm: Sleep
