Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine

Introduction

Established in 1975 as an integral part of Ohio University, the College of Osteopathic Medicine

annually enrolls an entering class of 100 students. The College is dedicated to educating well-rounded,

competent osteopathic physicians who will be prepared to enter the primary care disciplines of family

practice, internal medicine and pediatrics.

The College is firmly committed to selecting for admission those students who are academically

well-qualified and who exhibit strong commitment to the enhancement and delivery of high quality

medical care. It will adhere to the requirements of the American Osteopathic Association and intends

to apply more rigorous standards in most aspects.

Applications for admission to the College will be accepted from all qualified candidates without

regard to race, age, sex, creed or national origin. Preference is given to Ohio residents.

Applicants must be available for formal interviews on campus at the request of the Admissions Office.

Applicants should not present themselves for interviews unless requested to do so by the Admissions

Office. All applicants selected for admission are interviewed before acceptance. Note: Because the

large number of qualified applicants greatly exceeds the limited number of spaces in our entering class, only

the most qualified candidates can be offered admission.
