My laboratory is housed with the Interdisciplinary Institute for Neuromusculoskeletal Research (IINR) which is located on the 2nd floor (East Wing) of Irvine Hall.  The overall research focus of my work is on determining the mechanisms of neuromuscular adaptations associated with both acute and chronic alterations in muscle activity level (i.e. disuse, exercise training, muscle fatigue) and under pathophysiological conditions. The long-term goal of this research is to develop interventions that increase neuromuscular function and can be applied to populations with clinical symptoms of weakness and/or excessive fatigue.

Research Opportunities in the Clark Lab

Participation in research for undergraduate, graduate and medical students exist for new projects & ongoing work in the Interdisciplinary Institute for Neuromusculoskeletal Research (IINR).

Potential graduate students interested in Ohio University and the IINR have various degree options. The primary option is M.S. or Ph.D. studies in the Comparative and Exercise Physiology Program through the Department of Biological Sciences.  Another possibility is through the College of Osteopathic Medicine which results in a combined D.O./Ph.D. degree, which is only one of five programs nationwide.

Students interested in research projects or graduate studies in the Clark Lab should contact Dr. Clark directly at clarkb2@ohio.edu
