Research Interests: My principal research interest is innate immunity to bacterial infections, in particular innate immunity to Group B streptococci (GBS), a leading cause of bacterial pneumonia and meningitis in newborns. Current projects are examining the role of cytokines and inducible nitric oxide in limiting GBS intracellular survival in infected respiratory epithelial cells.
