Current Research:

My principal research interests are oxygen toxicity, free radical damage and antioxidants in eukaryotic cells.

Current research projects involve:

  1. Studies on the Hypoxia-Inducible Factor system in marine organisms.

  2. The expression of glutamate receptors in cells of the immune system.

  3. Signal transduction mechanisms mediated by glutamate receptors in the immune system.

  4. Fetal ethanol exposure in rats: studies on myocardium, neurons, thymocytes and erythrocytes.

  5. Pathways of ethanol metabolism in erythrocytes.
