Lab & Facilities

My lab has a variety of equipment for comparative and experimental studies of the musculoskeletal system. Major equipment for experimental research includes:
   

10 Grass Telefactor EMG Amplifiers for indwelling or surface electromygraphy

14 Vishay Model 2120 Strain Conditioners and Amplifiers for in vivo and in vitro bone strain studies

4 Channel Sonometrics sonomicrometry system for studies of muscle strain in vivo

Assortment of digitial video cameras, including Casio Exilim EX-F1 with high speed capabilities

Adjustable strain-gauge bite force transducers for medium (primate) and small (mouse) animals.

National Instruments Data Acquisition System and associated LabView Software

Thanks to a National Science Foundation Major Research Instrumentation grant, we will be obtaining the following equipment for the Large Animal Comparative Biomechanics Research Facility:
   

2 cinefluoroscopes and XROMM imaging capabilities

8-camera Qualysis Oqus motion capture system (allows high speed frame-based and infrared marker motion capture up to 10,000 fps)

Bertec Quad-belt force-plate instrumented treadmill
