Academic focus areas and goals:
  1. Sweat Gland Biology: To elucidate the control and regulation of secretions on a neural, glandular, and cellular level in human health and disease and in comparative studies.

  2. Thermal Physiology: To identify and understand response and adaptation mechanisms across organ systems to both environmental and physical stress in order to improve occupational related tasks and safety as well as minimize the environmental impact on clinical conditions.

  3. Physiological Education: To facilitate medical student engagement and learning of physiology by helping them to help themselves learn cellular through systems material by means of clinical application and context.
