Educational Monograph Series
The monograph series listed below is a way for CORE clinical faculty to meet the twelve documented hours of faculty development required to maintain CORE clinical faculty status. Twelve documented hours are required for each three-year cycle, beginning January 1, 2000. By clicking on the title of your choice, you will be taken to that monograph which can be read on-screen or printed for your convenience. At the end of the monograph you will find a series of questions that can be answered and sent to the Office of Faculty Development. You will be provided with feedback and given 2 hours of credit for each monograph completed.

The purpose of this monograph is to help you respond to teaching/learning situations in
which things do not go smoothly and more importantly to help you prevent these situations.
The Effective Preceptor
The skills you use to be an effective clinician are skills that can be applied to
enhance your teaching effectiveness. In this module you will learn specific strategies for
enhancing your clinical teaching based on the grounding you already have as an effective
clinician.
Evaluation: Making It Work
This monograph provides information on the importance and benefits of evaluation and a
practical roadmap to the process of evaluating learners, starting before the rotation
begins and continuing throughout the entire clinical experience.
