The seminars are held on the 1st and 3rd Monday of each month from 12:00 noon to 1:00 p.m., at O'Bleness Memorial Hospital, in their Medical Education Conference Room 014. Although the purpose of the seminars is to bring information on geriatric topics to the residents, interns and medical students, the seminars are also designed for an interdisciplinary audience.

Seminars are made available to OU-COM students at CORE hospitals across Ohio via OU-COM's two-way compressed video distance learning system and to individuals at 14 mental health agencies in Southeast Ohio.

Continuing education credit (one hour per seminar attended) is offered for most programs for Osteopathic physicians, nurses, counselors and social workers.  OU-COM provides the physician CME credit, and Consortium for Health Education in Appalachia Ohio (CHEAO) provides the nursing CNE credit.  Programs are submitted to the State of Ohio Counselor, Social Worker and Marriage and Family Therapist Board for  CPE credit for counselors and social workers.

The Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine is approved by the American Osteopathic Association as an accredited CME sponsor.

CHEAO (OH-049/10-1-11)) is an approved provider of continuing nursing education by the Ohio Nurses Association (OBN-001-91), an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation.

The presentations begin at 12:00 p.m. and finish at 1:00 p.m.
