Through
the O'Bleness Memorial Hospital Internship Program,
interns gain experience working with the
elderly, primarily during their family practice and
internal medicine rotations. Elective rotations in
geriatrics are available and they are encouraged to
complete a one month rotation.
All residents complete a
four-week block rotation in geriatrics in which they
spend 3.5 days a week with geriatricians. The
remainder of the week they cover their continuity
clinics. Residents may follow selected geriatric patients and,
become familiar with long term care practices as
well as
acute care visits. |
