The Department of Geriatric Medicine/Gerontology
emphasizes clinical teaching, didactic teaching,
research, scholarly activity, collaboration and
service related to older adults. A major focus of
the department is the role of the interdisciplinary
team in geriatric care. The benefit of using an
interdisciplinary team approach is a theme
emphasized throughout the geriatrics curriculum and
in the clinical setting.
