the following pages will help you prepare for your
time abroad. Please take the time to read through
the information to gain a greater understand of
Global Health and your role in it!!
The
site contains a wide variety of information:

Our hope is that you or
your group will use this site to not only better
prepare for your trip, but also to gain new insights
and perspectives that will enhance your trip and
help you integrate your experience into your
clinical practice and medical career after you
return.
How to use this
preparation material:
This home page offers links to each section
available with preparation materials. Please visit
each section and read carefully. Below are 4
downloads available for your use.
- A PDF version of
this entire preparation section if you wish to
print it to take with you while traveling.
- The PowerPoint
used during the OUCOM Pre-departure workshop,
for which attendance is required for each
individual traveling through an OUCOM
International Program. This PowerPoint provides
information seen in this online material as well
as information from Ohio University's Office of
Study Abroad. The PowerPoint can be used as a
guide through the material online as well.
- The Elective
Packet is available for download via the link
provided and widely used in Great Britain. It is
a great guide for a student traveling and highly
recommended for your use!
- A PDF of a
“Tropical Disease Learning Module” created for
the SHARE Kenya program and graciously available
for download by the author as listed below. This
guide does focus on medicine in Kenya and
treatment options may be different according to
location but it very helpful with common
tropical diseases.
