The summer Research & Scholarly Advancement Fellowship Program is sponsored by the Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine. This line of funding is specifically tailored for students who have successfully completed their first year at OU-HCOM. Research opportunities are available in clinical and basic biomedical research. The Student Enhancement Awards, sponsored by the Ohio University Council for Research, Scholarship and Creative Activity, assists undergraduate, graduate, and medical students, under the guidance of a faculty mentor, by providing funds for research and presentation of their research at professional conferences. The Provost’s Undergraduate Research Fund awards up to $1,500 for students conducting original research projects, creative projects and scholarly work. The funds can be applied to research related travel, materials or supplies. Application forms are available at www.ohio.edu/honors.

 

The Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowships (SURF), sponsored by the Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine, provides an opportunity for prospective medical student applicants to conduct research under the guidance of a faculty mentor. In addition to laboratory research, students attend weekly seminars and present their findings at the end of the summer. A stipend provided by the College of Osteopathic Medicine covers the cost of room and board for 8 weeks during the summer. Financial Aid and Travel Scholarships

Most financial aid can be applied to the costs of our international programs.

OU-HCOM Students should contact the Office of Student Affairs.

Undergraduate and Graduate Ohio University students should contact Stacia Stutzman in the Office of Student Financial Aid and Scholarships to confirm your aid package.

All OU Students: Study abroad scholarships are available through the Office of Education Abroad. Contact them directly (740 593-4583) for more information about other financial aid opportunities.

Non OU students: Please check with the appropriate office in your home school. Credit for these programs can be given by your home institution to facilitate financial aid if previously arranged. Contact the Office of Education Abroad directly (740 593-4583) for more information.

Scholarships: Participants are encouraged to seek financial backing by individuals, businesses or other organizations.
