This website has modules for students who are about to go abroad, for students while overseas (preparing to re-enter) and students who have returned. If you're feeling culture shock while abroad (homesickness, uncomfortable feelings, lack of adjusting to host culture, problems communicating, etc.) just go to the website and see if that will help you sort things out. You may want to analyze your own "critical incident" and see if you dealt with it in the most effective way. Be sure to involve others, particularly host country nationals, in seeking to understand what happened.
