Since 1998, OU-COM and the Southern Consortium for Children (SCC) have been in partnership to provide child-specific mental health training through the OhiONE Network to the consortium's 10 county service area. To date, over 2,000 training recipients have garnered more than 4,000 CEUs regionally. Together, we have created a children's mental health training program like no other in the state of Ohio.

Our partnership has been instrumental in shaping Ohio Department of Mental Health policy with regard to tele-psychiatry and tele-psychotherapy services delivered through closed circuit video conferencing. OU-COM played a key role in helping the SCC develop a web-based training series using streaming video as a vehicle for specialized training on specific childhood mental health disorders. The new training series is now being marketed nationally.

The SCC/OU-COM collaboration has spawned new idea after new idea, which has helped grow new services and supports for children and their families throughout the service area and beyond.
