OU-COM graduates 106 new physicians
On Saturday, June 7, 106 new osteopathic physicians became part of an OU-COM alumni network of 2,461 as they received their D.O. degrees during commencement exercises held at Templeton-Blackburn Alumni Memorial Auditorium.
The ceremony marked a milestone in the presidency of Roderick J. McDavis, who noted the special role OU-COM's 29th class of graduates has played during his tenure.
“The day after I was inaugurated as Ohio University's 20th president, I performed my first official act as president and greeted you, the Class of 2008," McDavis said, referencing the class's convocation in August 2004. "It was a great honor to share that day with you and welcome you into the OU-COM community."

Faculty Development Tidbit: PICTURES AND IMAGES…! (Adapted http://www.utc.edu/Administration/WalkerTeachingResourceCenter/Facultydevelopment/TeachingTips.html)
“A Picture is Worth Thousands … Ask students to draw pictures of their mental understanding of a topic or a concept. This is a great way for students to synthesize material and to visualize it in relation to other concepts. You might ask them to share their drawing with a classmate as a way to begin discussion on a topic.”
You can find more “Teaching Tips” at your faculty development web resource site: www.oucom.ohiou.edu/fd/programs.htm.
If you have a great strategy that seems to always work, send it to me, and I’ll include it in a future Faculty Development Tidbit (all Faculty Development Tidbits courtesy of Steve Davis, Ph.D., director of faculty development, www.oucom.ohiou.edu/fd).
