Faculty Development
Tidbit: “Learn and Use Student Names”
“Try to address
students by name during teaching sessions — Learn as many as you can, and work
on the rest.” Students care what you know when they know that you care about
them, and one good way to prove it is to learn their names. Check out more ideas
and resources through your FD Web site at http://www.oucom.ohiou.edu/fd/teachingtips.htm.
If you
have a great strategy that seems to always work, send
it to me, and I’ll include it in a future Faculty Development Tidbit. (All
Faculty Development Tidbits courtesy of Steve
Davis, Ph.D., director of faculty
development.)
