NEWS
CORE web site gets new look, additional features A refreshed CORE site, which
launched during the last week of August, contains several new features and an
improved front page. “The changes are a response to some of the needs and
suggestions we’ve heard from several different groups,” said Karoline Lane,
director of communication for OU-COM and CORE.
New to the site is a forum page where CORE faculty, staff, residents and
students will be able to exchange comments, questions, and best practices. “The
forums provide another opportunity for people to collaborate on ideas, problems
and solutions,” said Pam Royston, administrative director of graduate medical
education. The forums will go live within the next week or so, she said.
The site also now offers a video about the CORE that features students, faculty
and administrators discussing the statewide consortium of osteopathic teaching
hospitals.
“We received great suggestions, and we encourage feedback in response to these
changes,” Lane said. “The forums, video and navigation changes are just a start.
We’re looking forward to continually improving our web-based services and
communications.”

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
Faculty Development Tidbit: Move around
While your students apply their new skills, don't just sit back and take it
easy. Now's the time to scan the room, move around and make sure everyone's
doing what they’re supposed to be doing. Answer questions, give gentle reminders
and make sure the lesson's going how you envisioned it would. Some students may
need extra attention to stay on task, so you may want to be strategic about how
circle the room and where you linger.
