 Dr.
Hong is an associate professor of
physiology in the Department of
Biomedical Sciences. He received his
doctorate from the Pennsylvania State
University, and he currently has, or has
previously held, funding from the NIH.
The goal of his research is to
understand how patterns of cognitive and
motor function are changed due to
disease and disorder. Dr. Hong has
published more than 30 scholarly
articles and book chapters that include
both human and animal research studies.
He has expertise in the examination of
kinematics and patterns of
electrophysiological activity in brain
and muscle through nonlinear time-series
analysis. The goal of his research is to
employ complex systems approaches as a
means of developing new diagnostic tools
and practical solutions to improve
health and wellbeing, particularly in
the area of chronic disorders.
