PURPOSE: This policy articulates clinical practice requirements consistent with Ohio University Board of Trustees Resolution 1978-395 resolving that "Faculty employees of the Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine (OU-HCOM) be hereby authorized to engage in the practice of medicine concurrent with faculty responsibilities as long as such practice is as an employee of the faculty practice plan." POLICY: Group I physician faculty who are clinically active must practice through UMA or a practice that has signed the currently effective affiliation agreement with OU-HCOM. Group II physician faculty who are employed more than 0.5 FTE and are clinically active must practice though UMA or a practice that has signed the currently effective affiliation agreement with OU-HCOM. Group II physician faculty who are employed 0.5 FTE or less may practice through UMA or may maintain a separate practice as negotiated. Physicians electing early retirement are not bound by this policy.
