OU-HCOM Audio Visual Support Policy

OU-HCOM Technical Services Biomedical Engineering provides Audio Visual support that is limited to OU-HCOM faculty, staff, administration, UMA, and affiliated programs.  Support for registered OU-HCOM students is only available for OU-HCOM sponsored programs.  Any enrolled OU-HCOM student may checkout equipment and must leave some form of identification.  Technical Services Biomedical Engineering can assist in the technology planning of an event(s) with advanced notice.  Off-site Audio Visual equipment requests must be picked up during regular University office hours.  The liability for the loaned equipment lies with the borrower(s) and/or department.  Requests received after 3:00 PM will be confirmed the following business day.

 

Requests are prioritized in the following order:

  • Direct support of instructional program
  • Administrative program support
  • Individual support request
  • Equipment availability is on a first come first serve basis
  1. All on-campus requests should be received no less than one business day (twenty-four hours) prior to the time the equipment is needed to ensure availability.  Costs for after hours support personnel, if available, will be born by the requesting individual/unit.  A budget number must be submitted with the request.
  2. Off-campus requests must be made by or sponsored by an OU-HCOM faculty or staff member.  All off-campus requests should be received no less than three business days (seventy-two hours) prior to the time the equipment is needed to ensure availability.  Equipment requests that need to be transported to another location must be coordinated with OU-HCOM Facilities.  If set-up at a remote location is required, a fee based on the Ohio University mileage schedule will be applied.  Costs for after hours support personnel, if available, will be born by the requesting individual/unit.  A budget number must be submitted with the request. 

Equipment Checkout Guidelines:

  • LCD video projectors may be checked out for a maximum period of three working days unless otherwise requested.
  • Technical Services Biomedical Engineering does not provide portable computers for check out.

  • Slides, overhead projectors and tv/vcr units, may be borrowed for a maximum period of one week.

  • Caramate loans are available to faculty and staff on a quarterly basis.

  • Cassette players may be borrowed for a maximum period of one week.

  • Technical Services does not have portable computers for check out.
