OU-COM COMMUNITY BULLETIN BOARD USAGE

PURPOSE:

            To identify usage guidelines for OU-COM Community Bulletin Board (https://www.oucom.ohiou.edu/cbb/). 

 

POLICY:

  • OU-COM Community Bulletin Board is an email distribution list provided as a service of OU-COM.  It is intended to provide information to the OU-COM community.  

  • The “All OU-COM Faculty and Staff” distribution lists on OU-COM’s Exchange email system will be limited to official communications from the Dean’s office (including Communications, HR and ISIT).  All other announcements will come from the OU-COM Community Bulletin Board.  Students, faculty and staff will now receive college and community related announcements of events and as an email that will appear in their inbox from “OU-COM Community Bulletin Board”

  • A reminder is provided on the OU-COM Community Bulletin Board web site of Ohio University’s Solicitation Policy 42.550 and OU-COM’s Publications Policy 11.01.  Pursuant to OU-COM’s Publications Policy 11.01, any communications concerning College-endorsed issues must go through the Dean’s office.  Additionally, the Dean is the official spokesperson on political issues.

  • OU-COM Community Bulletin Board is not pre-screened for content.  Misuse of the service will result in loss of access to the service.

GUIDELINES:

  • OU-COM Community Bulletin Board is provided as a service of OU-COM for OU-COM faculty, staff and students. This email distribution list is to be used in service of the College’s mission (http://www.oucom.ohiou.edu/Mission.htm).

  • OU-COM Community Bulletin Board is not monitored for content or accuracy.

  • Access to this service is limited to OU-COM students, faculty, and staff.

  • Postings made on behalf of a charitable organization must give honest, full disclosure about the organization and must meet the definition of the State of Ohio Non-profit.  (http://www.sos.state.oh.us/sos/businessservices/nonProf.aspx?Section=111)

  • This service is subject to Ohio University’s Solicitation Policy 42.550 (http://www.cats.ohiou.edu/policy/42-550.html) and OU-COM’s Publications Policy 11.01 (http://www.oucom.ohiou.edu/policy/Communications/OU-COM%20PUBLICATIONS%20POLICY.htm).  

  • The Dean is the official spokesperson on governmental issues.  Pursuant to OU-COM’s communications policy, any communications concerning College-endorsed issues must go through the Dean’s office.

  • This service is for posting information and not a discussion forum.

  • Individuals can opt out of this service.

  • This service cannot be used for political campaigning, commerce, or personal financial gain.

Please contact the OU-COM Chief Information Officer, Brian O Phillips at 740-593-2524 for conflicts with usage of   bulletin board.
