Student Selection Advisory Committee

(Standing Committee, All Members Appointed)

 

The Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine (OU-HCOM) Student Selection Advisory Committee shall be composed of not less than ten (10) nor more than twenty (20) individuals appointed by the Dean.  The committee shall include membership from the Non-Clinical (basic science) faculty, clinical faculty and administrative staff.  Each appointment to the Student Selection Advisory Committee will be for a two year term. The Assistant Dean of Admissions will be an ex-officio member of the Committee.

It will be the responsibility of the Student Selection Advisory Committee to advise the Dean on the selection of the students for each class.  Access to the decisions made by the Student Selection Advisory Committee shall be consistent with federal and state statutes.

It will be the responsibility of the committee member to notify the Dean, Assistant Dean of Admissions, or Selection Committee Chair of any potential conflicts of interest such as personal mentoring relationships or familial relationships, with interview candidates.

All Student Advisory Selection Committee members are required to attend an interview process orientation session held by the Assistant Dean of Admissions.
