This policy exists to allow postponement of the Ohio service commitment for Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine (OU-HCOM) students who contract military obligations to serve in return for scholarship support.

 

Policy:

With approval of the Dean, an amendment as follows may be made to the Contract of Admission.

 

Amendment to Contract of Admission to the Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine

This amendment to the contract of admission is hereby made between the President and Board of Trustees of Ohio University through the Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine and a non-resident of Ohio for tuition purposes; for the purpose of granting admission to the Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine, hereinafter referred to as the student, in accordance with the following items and conditions:

  1. In accordance with paragraph 4 of the Contract of Admission the student is hereby officially notified that his obligation under paragraph 1 of the Contract of Admission is hereby waived for a period of three (3) years to allow service in the military as required as a condition of the receipt of financial aid.

  2. The student hereby promises to inform OU-HCOM of the date of his assignment and decommissioning in the military; and HCOM will inform the student as to the date his obligation set forth in paragraph 1 must begin.
