Legal Limitation on the
Practice of Medicine

Even though you will learn things that you will need to be a physician, you will still be unable to practice without a license!

It is a violation of the law and against the policy of the college for any unlicensed person to attempt to engage in the professional practice of health care. You therefore are required to confine such activities to duly licensed and supervised teaching sites. As an OU-HCOM medical student you are covered by the college's malpractice insurance only if you work under the supervision of a full-time OU-HCOM faculty member or in a program approved by the college. Please call for more information (740-593-1355).
